Public Assessment & Infrastructure Needs for Electrical Vehicle Charging in the Town of Banff
With all new light-duty vehicles in Canada required to be electric by 2035, the Town of Banff is proactively addressing the challenges this transition presents. Given Banff’s small resident population and high volume of daily visitors, the project will explore solutions for traffic management and electrical infrastructure to support widespread EV adoption.
Through data collection, engineering analysis, electrical grid modeling, and stakeholder engagement, the project will identify cost-effective, scalable EV charging infrastructure strategies. The work will support Banff’s long-term goals for sustainable tourism, climate action, and efficient transportation planning.
